The project involved the full dry lining, ceilings, carpentry and bespoke joinery works of this 4 star Crowne Plaza Hotel in the heart of Birmingham for John Sisk & Son Ltd. Completed in 55 weeks with 13 sectional handovers, the hotel remained operational whilst the refurbishment works were undertaken.
To limit the impact on hotel staff and residents, work to the 312 bedrooms was carried out on a maximum of four floors at a time with each floor being handed over on completion for occupation. To achieve the programme, 30 bedrooms had to be completed and returned to the hotel every month.
In addition to the bedroom refurbishments the project also included the full fit-out of a new restaurant, bar, kitchens and reception on the ground floor, with new conference facilities on the 1st floor level. New staff office space was also provided on the mezzanine level.
